The stories people tell have a way of taking care of them.
If stories come to you, care for them.
Sometimes a person needs a story more than food to stay alive.
That is why we put these stories in each other’s memory.
This is how people care for themselves.
—Badger in Crow and Weasel by Barry Lopez

Stories matter. Preserving them matters, too.
Stories are preserved through writing.
A visit with author Jane St. Anthony offers readers and aspiring writers a chance to explore and enjoy language.
Each classroom visit, writing workshop, and presentation is created with your curriculum and objectives in mind.
Jane has written two novels for middle-school readers, The Summer Sherman Loved Me (2006) and Grace Above All (2007), both published by Farrar Straus Giroux.
For twenty-five years, she has worked as a free-lance writer. Jane has interviewed Ellen Goodman, reported on a Chihuahua wedding, and written about American Indian art, medical imaging, good health, hair stylists’ dilemmas  and more.

Jane loves to read, write, talk about writing, and talk about reading. She learned how to compose a compelling sentence at Incarnation Grade School in Minneapolis, where as an eighth-grader she won her first writing award on the topic, “What I Will Do with My Religious Vocation.?
She welcomes an opportunity to share her life-long fascination with words and how they transport us. She is a preservationist.
